I am Laurie Turnbull, President and Founder. “Piccolina”, is an Italian term of endearment meaning “Little One”. This term has special meaning to me, as I used it often to describe newborns of families and friends while living in Italy.

While abroad, I came to realize the universal joy people found in a newborn baby. Many of my fondest memories from living overseas include attending a variety of cultural celebrations related to the birth of a child. Unique, heartfelt gifts to acknowledge the occasion were abundant. Traditional English products ranged from prams and Moses Baskets to hand-made bonnets. In Italy, historical and Catholic influences are dramatically represented in keepsake items such as sterling rattles, feeding sets, and silk Christening gowns.

Upon returning to the United States, I found that the sentimental gifts easily purchased while living overseas were unavailable. As I shopped for meaningful baby gifts, I learned that other shoppers shared my frustration with the limited selection.

In 1998 I formed Piccolina Baby Collection to provide consumers with baby unique gifts and specialty items from around the world. I have continued to expand the business and have added additional product categories including: necessities, furniture, clothing, and of course, more gifts. Today, Piccolina Baby Collection is proud to offer a complete selection of the most unique, highest-quality baby goods available.
